Hind Limb Ischaemia

Ischaemic hind limb is a popular experimental model for the investigation of angiogenesis and ischaemia induced neovascularisation. Laser Doppler Imaging can be used to assess global blood perfusion in the hind limb non-invasively and without the use of tracer dyes. This enables the comparison of blood flow in the ischaemic versus non-ischaemic limb. The measurement can be performed over a number of days so that re-perfusion allowed by the development of collateral vessels can be assessed.

Moor Instruments produces a high resolution laser Doppler imager, the moorLDI2-HR, offering fine pixel resolution of 100µm, ideal for imaging angiogenesis.

We recommend the moorLDI2-HR system for use in imaging of angiogenesis.
